Pecan Pie

3/4 stick unsalted butter
1 1/4 cups packed light brown sugar
3/4 cup light corn syrup
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 large eggs
1/2 pound pecan halves

Preheat oven to 350°F  with a baking sheet on middle rack.

Lightly prick bottom of pie crust all over with a fork.

Put pecans into the pie crust, spreading them evenly over the bottom

Lightly beat eggs in a medium bowl -set aside

Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add brown sugar, whisking until smooth.

Remove from heat and whisk in corn syrup, vanilla,  and salt.

Whisk the eggs into the corn syrup mixture.

Pour corn syrup mixture evenly over the pecans in your pie crust.

Place pie on hot baking sheet and bake until filling is set,  approximately 50 minutes to 1 hour.

Cool completely.
